Your Role:

  • Lead the financial strategy and finance operations of the company
  • Provide key financial planning analysis to drive strategic decisions
  • Lead the short-term and long-term budgeting process
  • Manage and provide mentorship to the finance team
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of action items from a financial stand point
  • Develop and monitor department and company level KPI’s
  • Create financial statements and trend analysis
  • Provide financial analysis and interpretation of variances from budgets
  • Implement financial operational best practices
  • Maintain banking relationships and arrange for debt and equity financing
  • Oversee financing of strategic initiatives
  • Oversee all areas of finances, including accounting, payroll, claims, payables and receivables

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Designation
  • Post-secondary education in accounting and administration
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience as a CFO
  • Corporate tax planning experience
  • International financial experience
  • First Nations partnership and joint venture experience
  • Merger and acquisition experience
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of local, provincial, federal and international statutory legislation and regulations related to corporate finances
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and software

Ecora’s Geotechnical Engineering Group has extensive experience in providing geotechnical services in support of infrastructure projects, commercial structures, dam engineering and residential subdivision construction and is providing consulting services to provincial government including the BC Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation and BC Ministry of Forests, Lands & Natural Resource Operations, municipalities, first nation communities, architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout the British Columbia interior. Ecora’s Geotechnical Engineering Group is supported by a CCIL certified materials testing laboratory.

The successful candidate’s duties will include conducting site investigations for residential, commercial and infrastructure developments. Participating in undertaking dam safety reviews, slope stability, rock fall and geohazard assessments, shallow and deep foundation design, pavement assessments, preparing technical letters and reports and undertaking field reviews during construction. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological engineering with at least 8 years related work experience is required, with preference given to candidates with previous experience in mountainous terrain. Must be registered, or be eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in BC. Travel throughout British Columbia may be required in this position.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Status as a Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) in B.C.;
• Considered a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) in the Okanagan;

• Senior level knowledge of municipal regulatory requirements and the applicable provincial and federal legislation for environmental assessments;
• Senior level plant, wildlife, soils, and ecosystem identification skills;
