The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • A GIS Technical Diploma and experience with ArcGIS,
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, AML, Visual Basic,
  • Strong cartography skills,
  • ArcGIS for Server administration or other web mapping experience,
  • Experience creating, maintaining and administrating databases,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills (verbal and written), and
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.

Other Desirable Skills:

  • Experience interfacing with clients and authorities,
  • Progressive work experience in the GIS industry is considered a strong asset,
  • Experience in natural resources or forestry is a benefit,
  • GPS and the development of data capture methods and techniques using mobile devices,
  • Remote sensing,
  • Project management skills, and
  • Secondary language skills (Spanish and / or Portuguese)

Ecora’s team has extensive experience in municipal infrastructure design, road works, geotechnical and structural engineering, providing consulting services to provincial government, municipalities, first nation communities, architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout the British Columbia interior.

Ecora is seeking Civil Engineering Technologists to join their expanding group in Penticton, BC. This is a permanent, full-time position with competitive remuneration and benefits. This is an opportunity to grow with an emerging dynamic company.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Completed diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in civil engineering or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Construction survey, supervision and contract administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision
  • A safety orientated attitude with a strong work ethic and desire to excel and achieve
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Experience interfacing with clients and contractors
  • Have a Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must be certified with ASTTBC or be eligible for certification with ASTTBC
  • Previous experience conducting materials testing

Other Desirable Skills:

  • Structural and Architectural drafting
  • Strong knowledge of material testing in laboratory and field work
  • AScT certification or eligible to register

Ecora is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their expanding Structural Group in the BC Interior based in the Kelowna and Penticton offices. This is a permanent, full-time position with competitive remuneration and company-paid benefits, including participation in a profit sharing incentive plan. The option of part-time employment would also be considered for a suitably experienced individual.

• Has excellent written and communication skills
• Possess a valid driver’s license

Other Desirable Skills:

• Experience with civil/municipal design
• Design experience in water and waste water, treatment plants
• Structural engineering design with reservoirs, multi-storey structures, and retaining walls

Responsibilities:

• Structural design of residential and commercial construction
• Supervision of drafters and designers and field reviews
• Work as part of a team either as a team leader or under the direct supervision of a project manager
• Prepare engineering calculations and designs, discuss project concerns and solutions with clients and inter-company personnel
