In May of 2014, Penticton locals gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Discovery Park at Skaha Lake. Ecora’s Engineering team has collectively worked with several other project partners to contribute advice and consultation in the mission of creating a free outdoor recreation park for children.
The new Discovery Park is Penticton’s first natural playground. The park focuses on creating a natural play space where children are encouraged to use their imaginations and to connect with nature.
The climbing structure consists of boulders from local quarries and climbing ropes. Ecora’s Engineering team gave their guidance on determining the size of the boulders needed to support the ropes and selecting the fasteners for the net hardware to connect to the boulders.
