PIPE SOIL INTERACTION ANALYSIS

Ecora can conduct pipe-soil interaction analysis for buried pipelines impacted by landslides, settlement, earthquake-induced ground displacements. This includes distribution and transmission utilities in the water, sanitary sewer, telecommunication, electric, oil and gas sectors. The analysis will be completed using programs such ABAQUS where discrete soil springs are used to simulate the interactions with the surrounding soils. The outcome will include pipe demands such as axial and bending strains/forces and shear forces which can be compared against the thresholds given in applicable design codes and standards. Ecora is also involved in research collaborations with industrial and academic partners to further the current understanding.
