Therefore, managers and supervisors train our people in safe work procedures and hazard identification. We lead by example to ensure that the people we are responsible for, have the necessary knowledge and awareness to work safely everyday.
SAFETY IS OUR OVERRIDING PRIORITY
Employees from every area of the company, regardless of position, are encouraged to contribute to our health and safety program. Ecora provides support for and promotion of the program to ensure that safety is our overriding priority. As a result, employee cooperation and compliance with the health and safety program at Ecora is a condition of employment. We are committed to compliance with all government agencies, regulations, and industry best practices, and we use annual audits to measure and improve our health and safety program each year.
COR CERTIFICATION
The Certificate of Recognition (COR) recognizes and rewards employers who go beyond the legal requirements of the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupation Health and Safety Regulation by taking a best practice approach to implementing a health and safety management system. The program is designed to provide employers the opportunity to take a proactive role in promoting occupational health and safety, in order to keep people safe and secure from injury, illness and disease. It requires an annual, internal audit of the health, safety and environment program, and an external audit every 3 years. Ecora has been COR certified since 2009.

FOREST SAFETY ACCORD
Because of our involvement in the forestry industry, Ecora is a SAFE (Safety Accord Forestry Certified) organization and being SAFE is good business. SAFE organizations perform better. They are reliable, predictable and efficient. By having a safety management system in place, incidents and injuries are reduced, and companies improve their reliability, quality and competitiveness. Ecora values this certification and has partnered with the BC Forest Safety Council in achieving our COR.
