The client retained Ecora to complete an investigation for the purpose of regulatory approvals for receiving a release notice from the Ministry of Environment and Parks for land development. Ecora investigated the historic fuel storage and distribution site to figure out if any fuel had contaminated the soils of the property during use. The soils, groundwater, and vapour were assessed and analyzed for related contaminants of concern for fuel storage. During the investigation the soils and groundwater were above the applicable Contaminated Sites Regulation standards, and the vertical, and horizontal extends were delineated as per regulatory requirements.
The associated notices and risk classifications were completed as part of the investigation and Ecora prepared a report summarizing the findings, and field investigations to accompany the associated documents for the Ministry of Environment and Parks.
Ecora recommended an independent remediation of the property, through in-situ and ex-situ, soil remediation and risk assessment.
