PROJECT

Quilchena Park

Client: City of Kelowna Design and Construction Services
Location: Kelowna, BC
Completion date: September 2009

Outland Design was retained by the Parks & Public Spaces Manager of the City of Kelowna’s Design & Construction Services division to undertake the preparation of landscape construction drawings, tender and contract administration services for Quilchena Park, a 2 hectare community park located in the centre of the Mission neighbourhood of the Village of Kettle Valley. Quilchena Park is the site of a popular children’s playground and spray park that were rebuilt with community fundraising, the City of Kelowna and the Village of Kettle Valley after the Okanagan Mountain Park fire destroyed the original structure in 2003. Outland Design was the project lead on a multi-disciplinary team that worked with the City of Kelowna to develop further park amenities, including a tennis court, parking lot, lighting, entry features and pathways, retaining walls and soft landscape improvements. Construction improvements were undertaken by Sierra Landscaping Limited.
