TRANSMISSION, DISTRIBUTION AND GENERATION: GEOTECHNICAL SUPPORT

Ecora geotechnical personnel have provided design and construction support on many transmission lines, substations, capacitor stations and other electrical infrastructure. Our geotechnical team is well versed in the challenges of working in remote conditions in British Columbia’s challenging terrain. We have strong experience in executing challenging site exploration programs in harsh winter conditions and working within important environmental and H&S constraints. Our site exploration design always starts with a high-level review of geological conditions We understand the geomorphology first and then target test holes at high-risk geotechnical areas.

During the design process, we work collaboratively and iteratively with structural and civil engineers to develop foundation solutions that are cost effective, appropriate for the conditions and prioritize locally available construction materials where possible. Our geotechnical engineers have a powerful blend of analytical and practical skills to deliver geotechnical solutions that are cost-effective. We also provide construction support through our team of engineers, geologists and technicians. With offices in Vancouver, Kelowna, Penticton, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Vernon and Fort St John, we are well placed to provide construction support throughout British Columbia.

Our geotechnical team is comfortable working directly for the Owner or as a Subconsultant under a Prime.

We can provide the following:
